CANCELLED - Festool Carvex Jigsaw 2011 Version

I stay out of this discussion because I have no inside information to go on. I'm only wondering what comes first: the launch of the Carvex or the end of this thread.
When the carvex comes, I will order one for sure.

I KNOW it will be the Carvex because the thread discussion will then turn to what was fixed, how it was fixed, when it was fixed, why it was fixed and then if that was really the reason(s) for the delay or other hidden reason(s) for what, how, when, & why it was delayed.  [unsure]

I fell off the Carvex band wagon and purchased the PS 300 EQ Trion, just could not wait any longer with the uncertain of the future time line of the Carvex.

Ha lol!    The funny thing is the bosch picture you have uploaded with that blade is completely safe it wont even cut your skin let alone cut your finger off.   You can spend all day with that tool on your hand trying to cut through your skin and cut your finger off  but it will never get past the skin.  So your saying no issues releasing the bosch multi tool but its safe as houses thats y lol.

No, you won't see any any updates, Festool will just release the Carvex and hope people will know when to buy it. [blink]  I'm sure we'll get as much advance notice as possible.

Thats why I pulled the trigger on buying the Trion PS 300 Jigsaw. Just could not wait any longer.

Hate to revive his thread, but I just received word that I'm going to be doing a large and somewhat awesome cabinet install later in the summer which will entail scribing some cabinets to brick, in some cases I will have to scribe almost ten feet of cabinetry to brick.  Perfect job for the carvex,  then fine tune with a RAS.  Money has been set aside for it, or should I just buy the 300?  I don't want to buy it only to find out the carvex will be out a month later...

I'd probably buy a cheaper saw that you can convert for use with a coping foot full-time later, or look even cheaper at something like the new compact Ridgid unit, which has a built-in dust port. Save your big money for when the Carvex gets here.

You can do a lot worse than a Trion but it's hard to argue with some of the logic already displayed here.

I really like my Trion.

I gave in a bought the Tiron, So far i'am very happy. I will buy the cordless Carvex when it comes out.

I'm very lucky, as my wife is a US Air Force Officer currently stationed in Germany. I contacted Festool to find what dealers are in our area, and I will be visiting one of them upon my return from my six weeks of work in Nigeria (Offshore Helicopter Pilot) to buy the PSC420. Fortunately, due to my wife's military classification, I am not subject to the German 19% Value Added Tax, so I should be able to purchase for near, or lower cost than if it were offered in the USA.

I am convinced that the 420 will blow every other jigsaw away...including their Trions, so the only hassle I have is the additional cost of purchasing a 110V TRC 3 battery charger for the 18V Li-On batteries. I can probably sell the 220V European model charger on an online flea market in Germany.

I am also planning on buying the Vacuum Clamp system that is also not yet available in the USA while in Germany. It runs on both 50hz and 60hz at 220V, so I just need to either plug it into my workshop's 220V system with a new plug, or use a transformer when I get back to our house in Florida.

Sorry that the rest of you have to wait, but without saying where this info came from, I have received some intel that Festool USA STILL plans on releasing the Carvex system before the end of the year.  I just don't want to wait.
