Ok, I have happily built up my Festool collection, but a handful were used and others Refurbished with Classic Systainers. I even bought some when Woodcraft was clearing them out. Are many Obsessive like me and now I need to update everything to T-Locs! I have been slowly changing them over and getting new inserts for the t-locs. I think I have three left to change over. One for my LR32 system, One for my HL850, and One for my Domino's storage. Can you order the wood insert for the Dominos for the t-loc? How many others had this compulsion?

I too, have a bunch of older systainers that I bought mostly because I got them cheap.  I use them for things that I so not use regularly such as my collection to air pinners and staplers.  I also use them under my bench for clamping accessories.

I was perfectly happy with the classic systainers I had, until I started getting T-locs. Maybe I'm getting weak/lazy(er) in my old age, but I hate trying to open the classics now. So stiff and awkward!

I concurr. The tools that came in classic systainers are now in T-locs. Makes moving tools around a lot easier because they all connect. The classic systainers now hold copper plumbing fittings, electrical fittings for LED lighting, fasteners etc. Makes it real simple to keep the tools sorted from the materials, if it has a T-loc, it's a tool.

I agree with the above sentiments. I have a couple/few dozen of the classics and opening them was a PITA yesterday while doing some shop cleaning and rearranging; I too am spoiled by the ease of using the T-Locs. I think it may be time to sell off the classics and replace them with T-Locs.

I went the same route as the rest of you. I found that classics fetch quite a bit on ebay. In some instances I got almost enough to pay for a new tloc!

Have you seen the newer plastic bin inserts for the T-Locs that hold dominos or other things? In the linked picture those are three long plastic bins, with a divider in the center of each, in the systainer. They can be removed and they also stack on each other so that they can be stacked inside a taller systainer.

Thanks Seth, I have seen that, I should have just looked for the new Systainer for the Dominos which is $85. That would be perfect. I will have about 8 empty classics soon. I am already so tight on space, I don't know if I will re-purpose them or just sell them. I didn't think I was the only on this boat. I may need to see how I can re-purpose first.

I'm sticking with the classic ones. The new ones open a bit easier, just a tiny bit, but they sag if you carry them in a heavy stack and I don't like that at all. I also like the look of the classics a lot better, nice and manly square instead of like a sewing box with all those rounded corners.

+1!

I too feel the same way, i don't care about the aesthetics, but using tlocs saves so much time and effort. I keep massive stacks, so the t-locs are way easier.  Does anyone wanna buy 35-40 classics

Won't even touch one anymore...............life is to short.

i prefer the classics to the new ones. the classics are sturdier and i never find them hard to open. i buy the classsics when ever possible. anyone want to drop the classics off with me that is fine.  [big grin]

Well, if anyone has any T-Locs though would prefer the classic versions and would be interested in trading, drop me a line. I'm certain we could work out something.

I'm looking for a Classic Sys-5 in excellent or good condition. PM me with details...
