Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Carvex 420 jigsaw (2 weeks ago) and wanted to take the blade out after cutting a kitchen worktop. I couldn't eject the blade and it took me about a minute to figure out that I forgot to remove the splinterguard. When I finally removed it and wanted to eject the blade, I was quite suprised that the entire blade holder came off and a spring jumped out.

It doesn't look broken, it just looks like it came loose. However I can't figure out to put it back in and prevent it from happening again.

Does anyone have a clue how to fix this or is this a case for a repair?

I just checked the Festool parts catalog. The blade plunger looks to be sold as a single assembled piece, although it’s assembled from a bunch of individual parts. I hope the saw is still under warranty.

Also, the way the plunge post separated from the blade clamp section doesn’t even appear to be separate parts within the assembled unit in the parts diagram. I think the plunge post may have “broken”.

Thanks for your reply.

Since the Carvex was brand new I still got warranty. My dealer has sent it in for repair yesterday. Luckily it broke after I was finished with my task.
