I've just bought a carvex jigsaw 18v and very unimpressed i just cannot see the blade properly due to the extra blade guide. The power button on the handle needs to be gripped very strongly which makes it impractical with prolonged use. Poorly balanced. splinter guards just fall out with vibration.
Old makita 18v jigsaw is much much better. This seems to me a classic case of over engineering.

anyone had the same problems. [sad]

Welcome to the FOG!  I can admit that I wished your first post was a happier one but I guess things happen.

I am going to guess that you have the cordless d-handle model.

I don't have that model; mine a corded barrel grip.  I usually have the drop down clear guard locked in the raised position and have the strobe turned to constant on.  I have never had a splinter guard vibrate loose - I have to use a pair of pliers to get mine out.  You might want to check that it has been pushed all the way to the first locked position.  (There are two.)

At least you have some more to try it out before you decide to keep or return under the 30 day return period if things don't get better for you.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. Sorry your first post is with a bad experience.

        'D' handle?

Not sure about the visibility problem. Do you have the light turned on?

Are you sure the anti-splinter  guard is pushed all the way in, with the blade  cut into it?  Not saying yours might not be loose but sometimes I need pliers to pull that guard out.

Sounds like you emotionally went all-in, without investigating it dispassionately.
One could return it?
