Hi I,m new to the forum so this may be old news. Just used my new carvex today with guide rail and base attachment, can't believe how poorly it performed. out of square and way off the guide, resulting in ruined panel. Anyone else had similar issues? The machines going back but don't know if I should get a refund or get a replacement. Would appreciate some feedback. Cheers

First off welcome to the Fog.

I don't think I am the best one to give opinion on the Carvex.  I have one & it has already been off for repair once & still as bad as ever, cuts way out of square.  Others have had good success with theirs but not too many people talk about the bad Festools.  I wish a never bought mine & am glad I kept my old Makita.

I would certainly take it back, whether you get a replacement or your money back is up to you.  I know what I would do !

Woodguy.

Got to admit I think a refund is the best option. I have the kapex, 2200 router, ctl26 & worktop jig, all work great, the kapex needs a little T L C  now and again with lub and realignment but it's a great bit of kit, the carvex just seems way to complex even the strobe lights seem  to bright, almost blinding, working to a line freehand also was an issue for me with poor visibility through the visor. Looks like my very old Elu may be resurrected. thanks for reply

hi yogga, have you tried turning the strobe off? also one or two of the members on here that have the carvex have put shims in the guide rail attachment , try going into search under carvex, i also had problems with my carvex like woodguy but ours are earlier models ,  as yours is new it wont have any of the older problems ? as to refund i guess you will have to compare with the elu and then some others but that's all down to your preference , i tried the carved against my festool trion and Bosch and two dewalts and a panasonic i found that after my upgraded carvex it cuts better than my others, just my opinion. green.
