I just finished building a kayak from western red cedar strips. A lot of my Festools came in handy including my 1010 and 1400 routers for working on the pad eyes and the retractable skeg. Although I did a lot of sanding with my ETS 150, the tool I used most was the RO 90 Rotex.
Along with the interface pad, it was great for sanding the curved surfaces and really worked well for the buffing and polishing after applying the finish.
My Kapex and my TS 55 were of little use, there weren’t many straight or square cuts going on
There were no Dominos either !
I wrote a long winded description in my blog for a boat building forum I frequent. Don’t feel compelled to read it all, looking at the pictures is free !
