Anyone got any experience with the Centepide products? Look interesting as an easily portable work platform for track sawing large sheet goods.??

They're great Bob; I have two of the 600x1200 versions! Perfect for what you describe, but *so* useful for all sorts of things and just so, so easy to put up and take down. The plastic toppers mean you don't have to worry about inadvertently cutting through them and damaging your sawblade (you don't need to know how I know that...), and they're replaceable too. Oh, and they store in quite a small footprint.

Bought one yet?  [wink]

I have the large one and really like it.  Amazing how little storage space is requires for such a large platform.  Only downside to it is no "leg room" underneath, which is nice for vac, systainers, etc.

I'd like to try to figure out the best way to add a MFT-style top to it (or part of it) but haven't really had the time.

I got the small one at Menards earlier this year...they had a really good deal around $37 for the set including the hold downs and 2x4 brackets.

I bought one a few months ago, but once I set it up, it seemed like it would be too wobbly for my taste and returned it.

I have the large one and love it. It stores in a small space which is good for my small shop, and when I need to use it, I open it up and throw a piece of 1.5" rigid foam on top and do what I need.

i have a couple. I've plopped a 3/4 sheet of plywood on mine and used it to hang drywall ceilings while walking on top of it. like a rock.

They are very strong when the force is acting straight down, but yes, a little more wobbly from side forces.

with a sheet of plywood on top it is no more wobbly and shaky then my mtf table with out the "extra leg braces"

I bought the smaller one and returned it.  I wrote about it here in this thread.

Lowes here in Canada has them on clearance since the first week of Jan at $40 and $100 for each respective model.  I'm in Lowes a lot and almost always check the tools clearance area and they don't seem to be moving at all at that price.  I'm ma6be still interested in getting one or two, but no more than $25 -$30 for the small one and $50-$60 for the larger XL model.  I imagine the price is about to drop again soon.

Here's the smaller model on the Lowes.ca site....

Out of the blue today, having totally forgotten I must have registered at Centipede for product updates, I get this email from them.

Shocked to see people here like this think.

Imop its JUNK,

I purchased one to break down sheet goods. One piece of 3/4 Advanctech and i follded it up and put it back in its bag. I nearly broke the thing in half just getting the sheet onto the table.
