I purchased a quick release bit holder that allows standard bits to be used w/ the centrotec chuck. About a week later the adhesive holding the magnet inside failed. Called up customer service , no problem, they sent another one out to my local dealer and we sent the faulty one back. All good. Now ,its been 4 months and suddenly the quick release sleeve is completely loose and no longer holds a bit or even stays on the shaft itself. Any one else have similar problems? I would like to fix this but it is not apparent that any thing is broken. The tool was not dropped or mishandled, it seemed to just fall off suddenly while I was in the middle of driving some screws. Any help would be appreciated.

Jim,

Welcome to the FOG.  Sorry to hear about your issue.  You have already experienced Festool customer service and seems to be happy.  I would suggest that you contact them on this issue.  I don't remember reading about a problem like this before.

Never heard about this either, but sounds like the spring inside is broken. Call Festool for a replacement. You should have done this before posting it on the forum.

The magnet falling out happens all the time.

Just spoke with customer service and they graciously offered to send a new one.I must say, they certainly take care of the customer better than any other manufacturer I've had to deal with. No questions, just matter of fact, courteous and pleasant. How often does that happen?
