A few weeks in the ring came off my locking bit holder, then the magnet came out of my standard bit holder

This is what happens with the cheapest of the cheap bit holders so what did I pay the extra for?

I had the magnet come out on a bit holder as well. Brought it to my dealer and they swapped it on the spot. What ring are you talking about? That little green plastic ring?

Ha-ha. So this has happened to me. Furthermore me but the magnet flew into the second bracket, making this became too shallow. So I was out of the game two at a time. But what, it's only affair on the road.

No its the black ring on the locking bit holder that you pull down to remove the bit

I had a magnet come out of the bit holder. Put a little glue on one end of the magnet, pushed it back into the bit holder, and "presto" fixed.

My view of Festool is they get most everything very right the first time and, when they don't, they respond beautifully.

For all the wonderful tools like the Domino, Kapex, etc; I'll cut them slack on the small stuff.

My view is you pay for quality gear so it wont let you down, When 2 go within a few weeks of purchase its as if they are trying to fob me off with cheaply made rubbish, Ive never had it happen with any other brand only cheap mickey mouse bit holders.

You pay a premium for festool quality and that is what you should get, I could buy 20 of the same quality for the price of a festool bit holder.

Yes I could easily glue the 1 but shouldnt have to
The lock in holder is not so simple

Thanks to Phil - festool uk, I have 2 replacements and a few goodies

Top service from festool, just hope these ones hold up

So what's the Sander voucher? Never seen one before...probably a NAINA deal though.

Overal, I find centrotec very good quality.

But I must agree the bitholders have their flaws. I also had a magnet coming loose and because it happened when I was working I lost the magnet unknowingly. Unlike what some people here rave about, I wasn't impressed with Festools' service at all, I had to jump through a few hoops before I got it replaced.

I don't like the locking bitholder BHS65 at all. I never had the problem of it breaking, but I find it uncomfortable to use. The €4 Wera bitholder I have outperforms the €27 Festool one on all fronts.
