Certified Pre Owned Cell Phones

I still have not upgraded my cell phone. I was looking again on the Verizon site & saw that they have  what they call
certified pre owned phones. Has anyone gotten these? The only information on them is that they are like new.
The price difference from new ranges for about 50% to 80% off of the normal upgrade price.

if there's a good warranty on them for service than I don't see what's wrong with that. Even the "dumbest smart phones are pretty damn smart and useful
