Well, not really a session, it's available 24/7.
There is a woodworking IRC chat room, #woodworking on the IRC server irc.accessirc.net that any and all are welcome to log on to and chat. We've had this chat running for about 4 or 5 years and there is always someone logged on though they may be away from their keyboard (AFK) so a !page will usually get their attention. Feel free to log on and chat.
There are a number of way to access IRC (Internet Relay Chat). You can use a client like mIRC or use a web based Java client.
You can download mIRC at the following URL:http://www.mirc.com
I just created a pre-configured version that you can install. Download it to your desktop and click on it to install it. It will create a folder named mirc. Once installed clicking on mIRC icon in that mirc folder will start the program and log you on to the #woodworking channel with the nickname of Guest. From there you can configure mIRC with your information.http://NHWoodworker.com/mirc/mirc621_woodworking.exe
In my opinion this is the best way to chat.
If you would rather not take the trouble of installing a chat program, there is a very easy to use online chat client at the following URL:http://www.frontiernet.net/~coppock/chat/chat.html
(note: You may see a popup message from Verisign asking if you are sure that you want to install and run jirc applet. It is okay to answer 'yes' to this.)
