Hi
I`m well on my way with a DIY fence and table for my chop saw. Its made with Baltic birch, 8020 aluminum extrusions and a stop block which is a 8020 accessory. I still have to secure the aluminum extrusions and make a pivoting stop for the left extrusion. The left fence will be the side that is set to part dimension. I`ll be  using a digital measuring system by http://www.proscale.com/ I have two of these measuring systems on my slider and they have been super accurate.

Regards Barry

Nice !  Very Nice !  [wink]
what's the p/n# on those 8020 stops ?

Hi
Here it is : 8020 T Slot Aluminum Single Flange Linear Bearing 10 Series 6715
I never used these before but it locks very tight. I don`t think a hard bump with
a piece of wood will move the linear bearing. Note: 8020 has different sizes for
their extrusions. The 10 series is their smallest size and seems just fine for this
application.

ThanX Barry,
I get lost in the 8020 catalog trying to figure out what goes with what . So a P/N# really helps
I'm going all in the 8020 stuff for my 'Ho' made MFT table & my chopsaw station . I have a Delta chop right now but I'll build the station so that I can easily swap out the Delta for when I get a Kapex .
I want to build a long one like your's she's a Beauty ! Great Job on that  .  .  .  .  .  [big grin]

another question , I looked at the scale you linked but didn't see one without the fence ?
or does that long scale come as a unit ? ?
Am I missing something ? ?

Its been awhile since I purchased from Pro Scale. When I needed kits for my slider they had
them for different makes of saws. I don`t think they have kits for diy chop saw fences. I would
believe some of their parts could be made to work in a custom situation. I have a Bridgeport
milling machine so for my fence making parts is no problem. You might send a pic to them
and they could make recommendations.

can you give the P/N for that bearing you have used , that is I assume a 80/20 part ?

8020 T Slot Aluminum Single Flange Linear Bearing 10 Series...... I think this is the part # 6715

Hi all
Just had an interesting project that tested the accuracy  nof my new festool chop saw.

Hi All
The chop saw fence system is done. I believe I`ve found a odd design of the Festool work surface. It seems the surface is
on a taper. See the attached picture. From the right or left edge of the work surface to the cut point. There is a space of approx
3/32. When I did the mantel job I had a hard time getting the crown moulding to follow parallel with the top edge or horizontal
surface. I believe I traced this problem to the tapered work surface. I added a zero clearance plate to the saw but added 3/32
to the height of the plate. Now the work surface is level at the cut point. Did a second job with the new setup and the results are
what one would expect.
