circular saw - battery

Here in the UK it's available. I just sold my TS55ebq and replaced it with... A ts55r. The reason I didn't go with the TSC(battery version) is that unless I was working somewhere remote with no power I don't see the point. It's always hooked up to my Midi so I still have the hose attached so that cancels out the benefit of having no cables.

Also in the UK power tools on job sites are usually 110v with regular domestic mains electricity being 240v. All my festool gear is 110v but not all festools are available in 110v so when I have my domino XL plugged into the wall and my 110v midi into a transformer I have to keep bending down to switch on the Midi. And that becomes a bit of a PITA after a little while. That would be the same with the TSC. So unless you're on site with no power nearby and you don't use a DC I don't see the point.

I  use the TSC and it is very handy for quick jobs, like trimming doors, you really don't need to hook it up to the vac as the dust bag that comes with it works surprizingly well. Only down side is your going to need at least four 18v batteries.

I have the tsc55 as well great saw but it does eat the batteries as said you'd need 4 if you would be using it all day. If you were only going to buy one saw it may be a better choice to go with the corded saw, I plan to get a ts75 in the future so will have the best of both worlds.

Yep Brushless EC-TEC motor,
I reckon this saw will sell like hot cakes, when it goes on sale state side.

Love mine! (Bought in Germany while I was there)

It came in especially handy while doing some fence repairs at the back of the property we are renting in Georgia, and where I would have needed a 200 ft extension cord to use a regular TS55REQ (which I also own).  Plenty of 18V batteries available, so that wasn't an issue.

Hope we get it in the USA soon so y'all can own one!

Cheers,

Frank

is transformer for cordless available so to conect it to main?

If you are asking if the cordless saw can also be operated as a corded saw then that answer is no.  Battery only.

I wonder why Festool and other mfg's of cordless saws don't offer a battery emulator.  Seems like it would make a saw that much more attractive.  Go cordless when you have a single door to trim on site and plug it in when you have a stack of plywood to cut up.

I have both saws. I love the battery unit and tend to use it on site most with the corded connected up to the DE at home.  The bag on the battery unit works really well to collect waste.
