I stumbled across another great use for my Woodpeckers Pocket Hole Joinery Jig. I used it for clamping down narrow Mission Style Desk slats as I used the Domino.
I did 32 mortises in less then 10 minutes.....Fantastic tool.

Hi Zachery, thanks for posting.  Where are you located?  Just curious because I've never seen that jig on the Woodpecker US site, unless it's something that is fairly old.

Hi,
I am in Upstate NY, Queensbury, and bought it last February at a woodworking show in Springfield, Mass. I went on the Woodpeckers site and couldn't find it either. It is sweet for keeping narrow stock in place and VERY Quick to do and undo.

Good thinking!  Mortising the narrower stuff is tricky.

Glad you post this with a picture!  I like that WP jig, but don't think it's available anymore.  But with some toggle clamps and right angle fixtures that'd be pretty easy to replicate.

Darn, why did you have to post this.  [tongue] Know I have one more reason to justify a Domino purchase. Just need the money.
Thanks, I am looking that doing some Mission style work coming up (no not like that, you piglets). Your idea will make the job easier.

Do you feel the Woodpecker jig works better than the Trim Stop, p/n 493487 that attaches to the Domino? Or are you getting more bang for your buck since you have found more than one use for the jig? I like the Trim Stop. It's pretty much fool proof which I need all of that I can get.

He's using the trim stop as well; the Woodpecker jig just serves as effective clamping.

I am using the Trim stop as well. I like the trim stop but the woodpecker is a fast secure way to immobilize the narrow stock. It is even faster then hand clamps and much stronger. Like any new gadget I know I have put more tenons then necessary in the desk base but it sure is fast and fun  [big grin]......

Thanks,
Frank

When I'm using the Trim Stop, I just push the workpiece against one of the dogs from the Clamping Elements. All I'm looking for is a stop to push against. The Trim Stop holds the work piece from moving laterally.

Dooh!! These old eyes missed it.  [eek]

I also do as Tom with pushing against a stop. Never had a problem.

Zachery,

Please post more photos of your mission style desk as your work on it progresses.  I think my wife would like one of those.
