I recently was working on some cabinets that required edge banding to be put on the plywood panels. Although the ability to clamp the panels to the side of my shop made MFT ( http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/custom-mfttable-saw-extension-table/ ) worked well, it was kind of a PITA to hold some of the larger panels up while clamping, so I came up with this solution.
I’m borrowed some of the ideas I have seen in this forum, and applied them in a very simple solution. The vertical pieces are held into the back of the table frame with star knobs clamped down with threaded rods set in threaded inserts so I can remove the whole assembly for storage when not in use. The horizontal member is held in using the same method.
The slots were cut in using a Domino DF 500 so I can put a Domino in to support the plywood panels. I added some elongated slots on the sides so if I need to clamp long panels to the fixture, I can clamp them down if the t track became unusable.
It also looks like in pictures that the verticals go all the way to the floor, however they don’t. This setup makes it very easy to put the panel in place, band an edge, then rotate the panel and re-clamp the work piece.
