"cleaning" a finish

I recently purchased some used "danish teak" style chairs, and they need a little bit of love.  I am skeptical the wood is teak, as it does not seem very heavy.  Does anyone know of a way to identify teak?  At any rate, the finish on the chairs is intact, but there are scuffs, some paint, etc that need to be cleaned off.  I am going to start with a wet rag to see if some of it will clean up, but I am wondering if there is a polishing pad I use with my ETS EC 125/3 that would be faster.  Any thoughts?

I've had good luck with paste wax applied with a 000 or 0000 ScotchBright pad. Use a liberal coat first and wipe it off while it is still soft, then do a thin coat applied with a soft cloth and buffed.
