Hey all,

My dog chewed up the end of my vacuum's hose pretty bad. It costs something like €200 to replace the entire hose, which is a bit too much at the moment. I do have a 3D printer and I'm wondering if anyone knows where I could find a file to print out a new one? I think I could just glue it on there or something. Shame that the replacement hose is more than half the cost of the vacuum itself and there's no way to just replace the head.

Thanks for any help you can offer... I can't attach it to my track saw or sander until I get this fixed up.

I managed to find a replacement piece, but I have no idea how to secure it onto the hose. The [antistatic] hose seems to be attached to the head by means of glue or something. Might be worth a shot to just try to glue it on and see how it goes. If all else fails, will just have to suck it up and buy a new hose. Thank you.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Unscrew the piece on the hose end. Left hand thread, and it is really tight on the new style hose like you have. I think there might be some friction tape on the threads. I have swapped several of mine and had no problems. Screw the collar piece on tight and you should be good to go.

Yes, [member=1619]SRSemenza[/member] is right. This is a fairly easy replacement. It's still going to cost you about $40, but that a lot less than the whole hose.
The plastic piece on the end of the hose, will unscrew from the hose. It might be tougher than usual because of the chew marks, but it will come off. Then the rest of the new fitting parts just kind of snap over that ring. That's how the end can spin, without coming off.

Thanks to you both. For now I have managed to temporarily glue it on to do some small dust vacuuming. But I will try to replace the end of the hose more permanently as well using your instructions.
