Hallo Foggers,
I have just done a little video about my new Clearveu Mini Cyclone CV 06.
My idea was to see how it worked under "normal" as well as "extrem" conditions.
These are just my personal findings and I would be happy to hear from others about their Cyclone experiences.

enjoy

Hi,

Your first post was a while ago so ...... Welcome again to the FOG  [smile]

What is the height of the Clearvue from the top of the bucket lid to the top of the unit , less any not unit fittings?

Seth

Thanks for the review.  I don't see any grounding tape . . . did you get zapped from static buildup?  Probably didn't use it long enough to build up any significant charge.

Nice review Art.  It would have been interesting to have weighed the sawdust before vacuuming and then weighed what the cyclone collected to get an idea of efficiency.  This would not address particle size efficiency but would be a useful indicator anyway.

Hallo Seth,
The mesurements of the Cyclone and bucket are just the cyclone unit with out hose pipe coming out the top 17 cm high and 15 cm in diameter. The buckets are 48 x 30 cm  total 65 cm. Adding the hose with a  gentle curve makes the cyclone plus hose 32 cm high so the whole unit is around 80 cm tall.
Hope that a help and thanks for embedding the video.

Hallo Bill,
thats a good idea with the grounding tape, I did notice a bit of static build up, but nothing major. as u say probably not running it long enough

Really good review, thanks, although not too convinced by the product, looks like its about 70% efficient at best, sure seemed like a lot of dust in your bag compared to some other demos I have seen such as the Oneida. I do wonder about the difuser design, would have made more sense to have a longer centre column that goes through the diffuser plate. I hear what you say re making it more compact, but they could do it as a screw on element which  you could assemble, there is enough room to pack inside the buckets

Yes im also not so convinced  by the amount of dust in the filter bag in comparison to the other cyclone vidios Ive seen on Youtube. I also sent Clear Veu the suggestion to continue the clean air exit pipe through the defuser plate  and take the air back from the middle of the bucket. Havent heard back from them yet. But Im not sure if it isnt important for the seperation to have the 2 columns of air passing oneanother. Any fluid enginiers out there who know this stuff?
So lets see what we can come up with to improve the design and get around the patent problem.
