TS55 will not let systainer close when green splinter piece is down.

Let me start off by saying I may be doing something wrong, in which case ignore this. But perhaps others too have been annoyed that the TS55 will not seat fully into its systainer when the splinter guard is down. Because of this the systainer lid won't fully close. So I melted the tool tray, just where the splinter guard contacts, and viola! all buttoned up. No more up-down up-down up-down adjusting of the zero-clearance splinter piece on insertion and removal from the systainer.

Snip.
Can't remember if I had this problem with my previous TS75. If indeed that's also a problem for other people, then your heading should've been worded:"Clever Systainer fix...."  [laughing]

Interesting... they must have changed the insert. My TS55 faces to the left.

yeah mine fits with the splinter guard but the saw only sits all the way in facing the other way in mine

I'll have to change it!

Interesting, I wish mine faced the other way, but in no way does it. Mine is 2 years old.

Great fix.  My TS55 has the same issue.  I end up forgetting to set my splinter guard back down on my first couple of cuts after pulling it out because of this.  I may try the same thing, probably with heat gun instead of a torch though.  Thanks for the post!

Yeah the torch was overkill, but funner.
