I've had this clip-on desk light for years without ever really finding a good place for it in the workshop, but I realized tonight it works perfectly with the MFT profiles- both the older 800s and 1080s and the newer MFT/3s. I need some extra light when working at night, especially when doing some detailed carving work or when needing to see my cutlines. Being able to easily slide the light along the MFT profiles works really well.

You can buy this type of light everywhere- I got mine at Home Depot.

Very good thanks for sharing, I use the LED version also as it doesn't have the heat when your hands so close and yet very bright.......

I have to ask are you hand carving egg cartons!!! They will never catch on, they have cardboard ones here in Australia you know!!! [big grin]

Thanks, yes it is a mancala board that I am making with my 8 year-old son. (I'd like to take all the credit but I'd feel guilty!).

He loves geometry so I used the board to show him how to use dividers and a compass to lay everything out when the fractions are difficult. For example, the end hole centres are 20" apart and need to be divided by 7. No metric or imperial arguments here!

Incidentally although the MFT is not great for hand planing, it is fantastic for carving work. I even prefer it to my main workbench for this.

I have something similar and it does help when working at the MFT at night.

You need to be more careful, you seemed to have carved a section out of your MFT! [big grin]

Not sure if my messages are getting to you.  I sent you a offer for your Senco Nailers let me know if you got them
