May I know the reason why the fence mounts independently on each side, rather than connecting to the plate in a manner that ensures the fence can slide precisely parallel to the direction of movement of material across the router? I understand the independent fine adjustment, very good. But it is really fussy to line up the thumbscrews with the obscured threaded holes on the deck below. Even fussier to get the thing adjusted so it is parallel. Seems so much simpler if the fence slid parallel. I am sure I am missing something, but what? Would it be a mistake to mount this in a pair of tracks on my Paulk table?
