I have the barrel-grip Carvex, so it's a non-issue, but doesn't the top grip version have a trigger lock built into it?
I thought the trigger lock clips were for track saws in the module?

The trigger locks for the track saws are very different, they are a C shape that clips round the trigger

My point was that I thought there was a secondary lock button on the D handle type jigsaw? Maybe not though, I don't have that style?

I have the non D handle , the trigger lock is electronic, if you activate it on the button, turn off the power, when you restore the power, the trigger is off. I assume that's what the little lock thing is so when it is in the CMS, the power is always on at the tool, so it can then be controlled by the CMS power switch.

Yes, [member=58857]Crazyraceguy[/member] the PSB420 has the manual lock built in.

[member=61125]dalep[/member] , the reason I pointed to that thread is because it sounded like you were looking to purchase this clip from someone and I didn't know if you had read that thread.  If you want to purchase the clip, the classifieds would be the best place to post, as it's much more direct ask for the purchase of an item.

If you want an alternative, honestly, the plastic "lock" is about the same size as a large paper clip or a popsicle stick and there's nothing special (bluetooth, NFC, hall effect, etc) about it.  One could likely find something in the scrap bin to wedge in place to hold the power trigger in the "engaged" position, or 3D print something that fits and works the same as the OEM piece.

Also, the reason that the CMS was discontinued is the same reason you can't find that clip included in the kit any longer and you can't buy it from Festool.

edit: The butt end of the thick gold blades is pretty much the perfect size to wedge in that opening.  If you have a dulled blade of that size, you could hack off the blade end and use the T end as your trigger lock.  A wrap of blue tape would help reduce the slickness and hold it in place as well.

[member=61125]dalep[/member] I've just checked and I have a spare in my Carvex Accessories Set. Drop me a Personal Message with your contact details and I'll pop it in the post for you. Cheers, Garry

Hey all. Reviving this old thread as I am also in search of the Carvex trigger lock for use with the CMS insert.  Festool have advised this part is no longer available from them.

If anyone has one they would be willing to part with please shoot me a DM.  I am in the US but can arrange delivery to UK or Ireland addresses.

Attaching a photo of what it looks like...

Did you kindly remind them of their 10-year part availability guarantee?

It seems like Festool also conveniently forgot about that small 10 year issue when you're using the HL 850 on the bench mount...the white depth setting ring is no longer available.  [mad] [mad] [mad]
