Hi.

I'm new to this forum, so apologies if this has been discussed before.

I'm looking for video and material on the CMS Router Module with the OS 1400. I wondering how this compares to other dedicated router tables, for example:

- How solid is the fence? and does it automatically square to the router bit, or does it "shuffle" or pivot on one point?
- How many configurations does it come with, there seems to be a lot of bits to the table in the image on festool site - what does each item do?
- It mentions a 'template' system to the router table. What is this? how does it work.

I've looked high and low for a video, but this particular setup doesn't seem to be too popular on youtube or festool video sites?

any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Cheers

Excellent, that was very helpful and explains a lot of things that weren't too clear.

Well done guys!

Tony

Ecks79,
The template system is what Festool call the guard for curved work using bearing guided bits.

Thanks guys!

How would you guys compare this product with a dedicated router table? would you notice any difference?

I've been trying to find a workshop nearby that has them setup, or a video showing it in use... but i can't find either!

Thanks for all your help guys.

Tony

Hey ecks, Anthony has one set up in his shop. Are you in Victoria?

Hi Tony,

Is this the set up you are talking about?

Hi John,

That's the exact setup, yes! how do you find it? I'm hoping to place an order for that this weekend... i would just have preferred to see a video or had a play first.

Sydney :-(

I've just located a shop nearby that will be moving in the next few weeks so they should have one setup then... long time to wait :-)

Thank you!

Hi Tony,

Latest pictures below. I have extended the MFT with the 2m rails. Gives you a bit more elbow room and the picture shows it with a TS75 module in.

Its a nice bit of kit to work with and in the short original form quite easily stripped down and taken to site. I run a of 2200 in it realy good. The router fence is a lot better than some medium end spindle moulder fences . It`s very easy to swap modules and once you have the knack it`s simple to mount and dismount your tools in the module. It`s like most Festool stuff it Works! Any questions just fire away.

John

Found some more Pics as well with the OF 2200
