I've been running CMS units with both TS55 and OF inserts for sawing and routing but recently purchased a dedicated cabinet saw which better suits my sawing needs.

Space is an issue in my home workshop so, having replaced my need for the CMS-TS55 I looked at router table options for my CMS-OF insert and OF2200 router (which I love).  The new saw has a large table extension to the right which begs for a router table insert.  So the options I considered were:

1. Continue with the CMS table and put up with the floor space issue (not an option)
2. Buy the cast iron router table accessory for my new saw (100mm circular aperture so limited operation)
3. DIY router table extension with standard router insert, use my OF2200, raise/lower from under table (inconvenient)
4. DIY router table extension with standard router table insert, buy a Triton router with built-in 'lift' (doesn't use OF2200)
5. Make my own router table extension with router 'lift' insert retaining my OF2200 (can't use CMS-OF fence)

All these considered, I decided I wanted to keep my OF2200 and CMS-OF insert (brilliant dust/chip collection) so came up with the following solution which I think gives me the best of both worlds i.e. space saving whilst retaining the excellent Festool OF solution.  I can use the CMS-OF fence and, as it doesn't tie up the table saw fence, I can still operate the saw (albeit limited) with the router fence in place.

thanks for sharing "out of the box" thinking. I've been thinking of mounting a of2200 under a router table, but the vendors all say the height adjustment isn't good, compared to a router lift like incra? please let me know how this worked for you?

Hi, the Festool CMS-OF router plate/insert I used has a built-in lift which is adjusted from above the table using the included (removable) handle.
