Am looking at buying the cms ts 75 module insert. Will it work with the cms - vl  base? Or do you need the stand alone cms-ge base?  Thanks for your help.

The only complication comes into play when choosing accessories and how quickly you want to switch your MFT surface back to "completely flat".

Also keep in mind that your MFT can be used as a nice long outfield table if you're performing a long rip cut using the GE ... or maybe that's MFT number two [wink] [big grin]

what Kev said, as all the festools (except the the case of the Kapex MFT w/o the kapex) are at the same height 900mm.

Consider buying a small portable tablesaw like the DeWalt's or any of the other brands (stay away from the cheap ones). IMO the Dewalt's geared fence is the best. The older DW745 can be had for $280 on Amazon. A newer version (DWE7480) with better guards is just under $400 and the cordless one (DE7485T1) for $500.

This is a far better choice than futzing with the swapping and the footprint is the same (or at least very close) to the TS75 module. Cost of the saw will be less unless you already have the accessories to make it a tablesaw (fence, mitre, etc).
