Shane I did take the plunge and got the CMS-VL MFT/3. While putting it together I noticed that the router insert plate sits noticeable higher than the rest of the CMS-VL table. Is that by design? Malte

Malte.

That doesn't sound right at all. It should be near flush.

I double check again tonight. If you stand in front of the cms and look at the back of the inside opening there are 2 pieces of clear rubber? pads that go around the round rim where you hook the plate in before lowering it in the opening. Wasn't sure if they were just for delivery/transport or a permanent fixture.

Yeah, those clear pads should stay on. The friction holds the plate in place a bit as well as they help with the vibration. Take a pic of you can, it would help.

I can also take a pic of what it should look like. :)

Cheers. Bryan.

Malte, regardless of how the insert sits, how is the insert in regards to the adjoining MFT/3?  That will be the most indicative as they should be flush and coplanar!

Bob, I have leveled the insert plate with the MFT/3. No problem. I did some more tweaking yesterday eve. You can still feel a slight height difference between the CMS frame and insert plate but as long as the MFT/3 and slider line up with the insert that should not be a problem. Worse if the insert plate would be below the frame.
