CMS vs Regular Router Table?

...... road works or not vs. here if there's a shower of rain everything grinds to a halt... I always joke that the Finnish population suffers from total driving capability loss when the first snow flake touches ground  [big grin]

Hi Reiska

I think that you must be talking about England - but the driving in Germany is quite special. I particularly like the way that the traffic police are respected - at the scene of an accident they have the authority to apportion blame, hand out on the spot fines and keep everything moving. My largest speeding fine ever was in Germany and so I am now very careful.

No what I ment with the leftmost lane is the leftmost righthand side lane i.e. The overtaking lane for us who drive on the right side of the road [big grin]

Reiska,
Thanks for the explanation.  I was coming from the right and coming uphill. In US the car coming from right has the right of way.  The truck was coming down hill (a very steep grade) and i was sure (from my own truckdriving experience) that he was having problems with slowing down, even more problems with stopping.  I also knew that we were tourists and enjoying observing scenery at a leisurely, if not eratic, pace.  all in all, i considered it was doing him a favor by blinking my lights for him to go forward.  When i had first arrived in Germany, one of my first visits had been to the police station in my wife's sister's home town.  i discussed various traffic problems and proceedures for atleast a half hour.  That specific situation was one which, of course, I had not discussed.  In the end, I had an adventure and the German trucker decided i was not such a bad guy after all.  I think we both figured out the other's problems in the end.

In Australia the biggest vehicle with the most dents has right of way. The police generate revenue by by pulling people over on long straight roads for picking their noses. Road rules are created to confuse the innocent. Disability parking spaces are for people who drive Mercedes.

This was my strategy for pulling out in busy traffic in my old beatup Chevy when I lived in L.A....."now, where's the new BMW...."

Guys, I think we're getting a little off topic. Let's try to get back to CMS vs. other router tables.

Feel free to start another thread to continue the discussion about cars/autobahn/etc. Thanks.

Since the CMS will be here soon & the 1010 may be the only router that someone may use, is there any speculation of bringing in any of the 8mm router bits?  I know that routers already exist here but it's worth asking!!

Lee Valley has a nice range of 8mm shank bits for mostly what I would consider "hand held" routing but for Ogees, panel raising, rail & stile, etc. for router table bits the 1/2" shank capable 1400 seems to be the better choice (here in the U.S.).  [unsure]
