It should work. As I understand it, the CMS and CS 70 Precisio (that the wheelset is for) share the same "narrow" dimension. However, they don't share the same "wide" dimension (hence the need for two distinct lengths of rip fence/stopper; one for the CS 70 - which fits the MFT/3 BTW - and the other for the CS 50 and CMS).

That said, a member with keen eyes spotted a modified set installed on an MFT/3 at the Festool factory here:
http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/festool-visit/msg427134/#msg427134

This would imply that the set is (maybe?) too long for the narrower dimension CMS (and, therefore, contradicts my understanding on the shared commonalities between the CMS/CS 50 and the CS 70) . If so, that could be remedied with a hacksaw, I would think. Or, simply, that a longer piece of tubing (which the folks at the factory would have access to) was used.

Either way, I'm personally waiting for the wheels that appear on the new versions of the CS 50 and CS 70 to show up on EKAT so I can buy a couple sets and install them on my CMS and MFT. Much better solution, I think, and should be more reasonable in terms of price too.

Alternatively, if the price is off the charts I'll just use them as the inspiration for a shop-built set. If I go with the OEM set then I might also, at the same time, order the improved cord wrap (which features integral storage for the mitre fence).

I would love to get my hands on a set of those wheels for my MFT/3.  I would dump my MFT Scooter and keep my MFT set up at all times.  My guess is if Festool starts selling mobile kits for the MFT it would probably retail for $500/set based on Festool's pricing model.

[member=62711]krudawg[/member] - shouldn't be too bad at spare parts pricing. But, I agree, if  these appear as kits in shops, the price will be high. In that scenario, they will likely include the outriggers too. I'm hoping that the need to drill holes will keep these as spare parts and prevent them from being made available as a kit. This notion is somewhat corroborated by the fact that the legs with the wheels and outriggers are being sold as an accessory.  At the same time, however, my fear is that the spare wheels will only come with the outriggers (which will likely result in a large price tag).

Just imagine the outriggers as a single yoke shaped piece of plywood fastened to the legs with U-bolts. Then add non-swivel casters.

The casters will have to be modified. Cut off the mounting tabs/holes on one end of the caster so the tire is proud of the mount and drill new holes.

What about this from Rockler?

I just added one to my lathe and thought getting one for my CMS systems.

I may need to custom make it the correct size throw.

This works very nicely. But raises the  cms about 3/4 inch. I have a fix for this but it will be complex and am now looking through my un used robotics parts.  I guess I am bored.
