CNC Shop - New York - Long Island Area

I had mine made by Urban Specialty woods in Huntington.  They shopped it out to a third party.  I believe to machine an entire sheet of MRMDF cost me $100.  I would definitely bring whatever dogs you plan to use so the CNC shop can guarantee they will fit.  Urbanspecialtywoods.com.  Harry is the guy to see.

I called them, they are asking $230 to do a 4x8 sheet of MDF.

Is that with the sheet of MRMDF?  Because I think I paid around$80 for the sheet.  I got two MFTC tops and another smaller piece out of the sheet.  i thought it was a good deal.

When I called, the guy just said the price is $230 for the work including a sheet of 3/4 MDF.  Lead time was about 10 days.

It is available from Lee Valley for under $200  and you can make as many tops as you would want in future. I just made a 37" x 97" 3 section assembly table with 217 holes. Extremely accurate, near CNC accuracy.

Nice work.  Looks like I might just invest in that system.  Just got another quote for $325.  Lee Valley showed it out of stock though.

They are produced by Axminster Tools & Machinery in the UK - that is where I purchased mine when they first came out. There is quite a demand for the system and they have ramped up production. Should not be too long until stocks are replenished.

I just checked Axminster - they show it as in stock. They do a quick ship, mine took 4 days from placing order - no duty charge either.

I'm in southern NJ - never cut a MFT top on my CNC but need a new one for mine so would be willing to cut another.  I would do for significantly less than that quoted price, but shipping cost for MDF would be the killer - I'm about 25 min outside Philadelphia
