Noticed on another topic that JacPac C02 regulators were being used for Grex nailers, after doing some searching it looks like JacPac is discontinued? can anyone recommend an alternative, I'm based in the UK
I have a similar one from Lowes here in the us that has also been discontinued. It works fairly well for my pinner and narrow crown stapler but that is about it. About every third time I have to swap to a new canister the o ring tears on install and I lose a good bit of the co2. I am seriously thinking of just putting a small compressor back in the truck.
I did a quick search online and didn't come up with any other options for you [sad] Maybe there were too many issues with them?
I used one on a big project several years ago and it worked great for touch ups and such. Had the bottles filled at the local paint ball gun outlet/hobby shop.
I was looking for a comparable solution earlier this year. It seems paintball supply places and off roading shops could be an alternate source for the bits you'll need. The trick is finding a low pressure regulator that is suitable for a nail gun and compatible with the small portable CO2 tanks you find in paintball. The link below is one specialized site ($$$) selling packages. Their 20oz sidearm packages come with the appropriate regulator.
Thanks everyone I ordered the Grex 650 and the basic Powertank 20oz Sidearm kit ... I have about 20 wardrobe cabinets with Domino tenons to glue up so following a lead from Paul Marcel I am going to briefly clamp and pin them to avoid having to use a large number of clamps ... which I don't have!!
