Yes, just 1 insert comes with the ZCI. However, 4-packs can be ordered. And FYI: The insert for the Slide & Snap is the exact same as the insert for the previous model.

That's good news Jack because the 3 fresh inserts I have downstairs are still useful with the new frame.

Has this been released yet as I'm going to Woodcraft in the afternoon?

Is there a maximum number of times you can remove and re-insert the insert before the "Snap" action goes away?

It has been released on my website only. I've contacted Infinity Tools about it, but I haven't informed Woodcraft yet  [embarassed]

Sorry--forgot to add: The Snap on one insert shouldn't wear out. How the action is accomplished is that the material is flexed as it is pushed down into the dovetailed slot. That EPVC is pretty flexible, so I think the ZC slot would wear out before the insert's snap action.

This looks intriguing to me. I just swapped out my Betterly ZCI tonight and forgot how finicky it is to get it adjusted correctly. Might have to give one of these a shot.

I machine the thickness of the ZCI to the precise thickness of the saw's throat. No height adjustments.

The upgrade offer should sound reasonable to those who decide to do the upgrade as they can resell their old version to recover part of what they paid for it. Some wouldn't mind taking a bit more time to change the insert in exchange for a price-reduced, second-hand ZCI.

Hello all

I have one of your ZCI for the Kapex and could not figure out where to buy the inserts for it.  Today I was at Woodcraft In Cannonsburg Pa near Pittsburgh and remembered that is where I purchased it.  They were clueless about what I was talking about so I assume they no longer carry them.  After reading this post and watching the video I now know where to buy them.  I have a gift card for Infinity but they want $9.99 for 2 inserts.  Thank you for the post, I love that damn thing I even make my own inserts from plywood that I send thru the wide belt but it’s a pain. At $10.00 for 4 on your site it’s not worth my time to make them.  I guess we’ll see a lot of 1st generation ZCI frames for sale here soon

Great! Glad this will make life easier for you. Interesting that Woodcraft didn't know what you were talking about. The inserts can also be purchased online at Woodcraft's site for $10/4-pack. And also, plywood would be a great insert for the "old" ZCI, but probably not for the new one due to needing the flex in the insert. That EPVC just flexes perfectly into the slot.

Yes, thanks for bringing this up again. I hope the free 4-pack is a good recompense. The "old" ZCI is still a fantastic addition, but this one just makes life a ton easier.
