Title says it all! :)

Not a fan... mainly because I never have a need to have my LS slide side to side on my MFT.  I also wouldn't really want it to go fore to aft either.  I guess if you needed to go beyond the 25 or 17" that could help, but with my newly acquired Precision Plate, I see that as a redundant piece.  Plus you have one point of contact with the external extrusions.  I would rather have it lined up with the dog holes when area plentiful ;)

if you get it working, let me know how it goes!

cheers.  Bryan.

Not redundant for CMS owners.  Whip up an adapter that slots into that and then screws into your adapter! :)

Yes, I would love one for my CMS. I was using it the other day and I screwed the fence down as tight as I could. After routing a rabbit on a bunch of boards I noticed the fence had moved back about a 1/16".  [sad]

So what moved?.... Fence screws not tight or the router slip in its holder?

Do you think there is enough room for a positioner to go?  I have a VL so of course I have room but I never though about using the LS on a CMS. I think I would be looking at some other fence.

You might be able to get a block milled down and use the plate but I would get convened that the height is to high for the fence to sit proper on the table. I think you only have about ¾ to 1" of play.

Combine the CMS with the VB-CMS extension table and you've got plenty of room.  Sure, you could use the festool rip guide, but I very much prefer the incra solution.

While you're at it, figure out a way to attach the incra miter guage to the sliding table, hah. ;)

If somebody (Festool or dealer?) wants to send me all the pieces I'll sure as heck figure something out!!!

Fine-tools.com has a user story with pics on one idea how to mount the LS base to a Precisio saw. It involves attaching wide T-slotted aluminum profiles on the side of the Precisio.

Yeah, I've seen that - but was honestly hoping for something a little less DIY.  I have a list of stuff to do that's (no joke) longer than my arm, and each thing that i don't have to add to the list makes my life that much easier.

Modifying a Festool 492095 fence/stopper might be a better place to start. http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/4014549031612%20492095%20Stopper%20-%20LA%20for%20CS%2050,%20CMS-GE   It appears to have some sort of micro adjust built in. It mounts to the in-feed side of the table, so it can be used by all versions of the CMS.  It would also help maintain the shallow foot of the CMS, for those of us who have very limited storage space.  I suspect you would have to throw away the fence portion, and create a new fence that would terminate with a thin plate that you could mount the router fence on top of.

The other thing you could do is use the CMS miter gauge, less the fence portion, and attach it to the back of a Incra Wonder fence.  It looks you could do it without modifying any of the parts.  Unfortunately, it wouldn't have micro adjust capability.

Cheers,

Paul

The fence moved. I tightened the screws as hard as I could by hand before I started. After I noticed the movement I tightened further with a pair of pliers.

precision dogs makes a plat for the ls positioner that mounts directly in an mft.
