What should we expect at one of these events?  I'm heading to Maryland this weekend and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth a stop.  Thanks.

A couple of other members can jump in with their experiences, but it's an opportunity to meet the regional Festool rep, in this case it should be Jordan Haire. You can ask questions, watch demonstrations, sometimes there's food and other things going on.

Here's the address for you:

Woodcraft
1123 Cromwell Bridge Road
Towson, MD 21286
410-828-7426

On Saturday, 7/9 from 9a - 1p.

I se several California locations but I don't see any Arizona locations.

Regards,
Don

Don, these happen to be the events that are currently scheduled in our system. We're always scheduling new events.

You can check our website here for listings:

http://www.festoolusa.com/where-to-buy/experience-demo-days.html

I did have a function on the site to allow visitors to subscribe and receive auto-notification of new events but it's temporarily turned off. I'll try to remember to notify the forum members once its back online.

I was looking for Houston demos and it looks like both woodcrafts location will have them.
Same days, same hours, save host???  July 22

How that will work?

We have multiple sales reps that cover that area. I can only assume that there will be one at each event.

So, how was the Festool event at Anderson Plywood in Culver City today (8 July 2011)?

I felt really bad that we were so busy in my shop I could not get away to show support for Festool.

Anderson is a very good supplier of cabinet grade plywood and other sheet material. They are nice folks with a better than average Festool inventory.

so what about the south?  GA  NC    SC    ?  those are my areas, of couse I am a demo day with festools every day I work !  but still fun to go to.  get Dan out there for demo days.

It helps if you read the other posts Kreg. [tongue] [big grin]  All joking aside, see Shane's reply #5.

I went to one at the Rockler in Ontario, CA a couple of months ago, and the rep was super about answering questions.  He gave me a Kapex t-shirt after I bought a T15+3 kit.  I'm looking forward to a return visit in August.

Thanks Shane, but I was just busting your chops a little.  I assumed there would be more in the future probably not here .  Wood working seems pretty dead here in the desert.  I know I don't get out in the shop as often as I used to.

No you don't

One of the greatest days of my life was seeing that "Welcome to California" sign in my rear-view mirror ...

Maria kicked you out too?  [tongue]
This time you won't be hearing, "I'll be back!" (with Austrian accent)

I went to the Demo at Anderson Plywood in the Los Angeles area. People drifted in two at a time for about an hour as he demonstrated equipment for me. Most of those there were tradesman. I'm a hobbyist. Allen was the presenter. I have begun to use my OF 1400 in conjunction with the MFT/3 to make Dados, and after two years of ownershipm, I'm just not that quick or sure with the OF 1400.

The documentation was all I had to go on. And watching videos is, after all, 2-dimensional viewing. There is so much capability to this equipment. Most is barely hinted at. The Demo shows fill a real need. I always go to the Gary Katz shows, but his methodology doesn't necessarily show off the equipment.

I checked with Woodcraft Houston Southwest and they are not aware of a Festool event scheduled for Friday, 7/22.  Will they be at the other Houston store or is this some kind of a mix-up?

I just called Woodcraft north at 60FM 1960 West and they dont' know that either.  They have a jigsaw demo July 30, but that is it.

Don't you love Houston?  This is a very special city, We are within USA limits but this city belongs to Mars or Jupiter.  We do things different, we don't care about anything.

Well, I hope there is a demo tool in Austin soon, I am willing to drive there, same state but a top notch city.

[eek] ??? [huh] [embarassed] [sad] [crying] [mad]
