I'm looking at a huge ipe job in the near future, and am considering how to deal with prepping all of that material.

I currently own the old RO150, but honestly can't say that it's my favorite.  The new ones have a nicer balance.  I also have a simple Bosch 6" model#3727 that is even easier to handle.

Does anyone have experience with the Bosch 1250DEVS ?  It has both a fine random orbit and faster "eccentric orbit" for aggressive material removal.

I also saw a couple of models that have a fine orbit and a larger orbit for fine finishing vs faster removal:

Metabo SXE 450

Ridgid R2610

Any experience with these models?  Or other recommendations?

I'll check in to the Mirka, too.

Because of the scale of the project (2700 sf), we'll be doing all the sanding and oiling in the field on site (so no air powered setup)

Hi Joseph,
I had 2 of the Ridgid Sanders and loved them. The dust collection is average but it is a very good sander. I sold one when I bought the RO125 but I did keep one of the Ridgids.

The Mirka Ceros is not dual mode. I think a main advantage of it is the separate transformer which means it handles a lot like an air sander. It makes working on vertical surfaces a lot easier.
