Compressors .. big / little, mains / cordless, quiet / scary load.

In OZ the trend is pretty much Milwaukee all the way with most tradies. Must admit a lot of what my apprentice son has is pretty nice, and gruntier than a lot of my Makita LXT stuff. There also seems to be better deals going with Milwaukee than with Makita too.

I am seeing far more finish and cabinetmakers using Festool now though, the SYS 50 certainly got good penetration.

Plumbers deffo love Milwaukee, they make some really nice specialist tools in that space.

Yep, gotta admit that crimper they have is pretty damn cool!

I’ve had a Senco 1010 in a Systainer for the last 5-6 years. I give it no love and it’s always reliable and super quiet.

Just for small scale though. You can’t fire 50 breads per minute with it, the compressor will kick back on every 10-20 brads fired ish. .

Hopefully I’ll finish getting this system set up over this coming weekend. They claim 68db, a lot quieter than the Schultz we’re currently running.

I own compressors from the Jc-10 up to this one including the Cadex in a Systainer.

I use a Thomas 617 1/2hp.  Super light, easy to carry and quiet. I have gotten compliments from customers and other tradesmen about the quietness and it has been a workhorse with 100% duty cycle.  Only drawback is the price.  Made in USA.

I guess I should put my old Thompson T-617HD-F up on the Classified section since I no longer use it. Will sell cheap, btw, but shipping may be prohibitive if you're not local to the SF Bay Area.

Tom,
now THAT is a promising source of compressed air.
Your experience report will be followed with interest when you're ready!

I use this for small guns. Don’t know the spec but it isn’t too loud.
