Does anyone have a good solution to hanging 3/4" hardwood shelving on drywall? These are retail shelves only supporting eye wear. None of the hardware should be visible though. The "blind" or "hidden shelf brackets" I have found are for thicker material with the support rods also being too large in diameter.

For reference: http://www.rockler.com/blind-shelf-supports

Thanks!

Couldn't find them on their website... sounds like they are too big anyhow. Thanks

One other question have any of you used this brand and type of hardware from them? Thanks

I have used them here in Ireland on masonry walls not on drywall. If you can find the stud it will help. Then drill the shelves on a drill press if available as they need to be as accurate as posable so you are using the adjustment to level the shelf not to compensate for the hole not straight.

Also, I am curious about advice on boring the hole for the shelf supports. About a 5 inch deep hole in 1" thick board. The total width of the board is 10" or so. A little tricky trying to support the board for straight holes each time. Any jigs for drill presses I can see? Or a different method entirely?

Thanks!

I would make an L shape bracket out of ply and clamp it to the drill press table.  Set it so the drill bit is centered on your stock and just slide the piece left or right to drill each hole.

i may be to late to be any help, but I used rebar hammered into a drilled holes and a matching holes in the shelf. Cheap, easy and strong. B
