Just picked up the November edition of Popular Woodworking.  [member=4358]derekcohen[/member] won the Editors' Choice in their 2016 Woodworking Excellence, Seating category!

There's a picture of his Hans Wegner's 'The Chair' .  Editors' comment: "It is a truly stunning homage to the influential Danish designer's work."

It's great to see the wise man of this sub-forum getting international recognition.  Cheers to Derek.

 
Thanks Jim. It was a surprise - I thought that there were a number of superb chairs that easily could have had the award.

I don't doubt that, but clearly yours spoke to them unlike the others.  The paragraph about your piece was gushing...I really think you took a couple of judge's breath away.  "perfect copy"... "stunning homage".

Wonderful stuff like this doesn't happen very often.  For one night, may I recommend that you put your humility aside, go to your local hangout and announce, "Go*da*n I'm good!"
