Connecting RO 90 to CT26E?

I am a new Festool owner, having recently purchased the Kapex to replace the baseboard in my house.  It's going reasonably well (aside from the saw cut I made in the Kapex's aluminum fence!), and I want to continue building my tool capabilities.  I am not a professional contractor nor a woodworker.  But as an engineer, I appreciate good system design, and only want to purchase a tool once.

I'm looking at the RO 90 to sand out the filler material before applying the final coat of paint.  (Despite the precision of the Kapex, nothing in my old house seems to be square nor flat.  So I have some gaps to fill.)

I have the CT-26E (583492) and the Tradesman / Installer Cleaning set (497700).  What hoses and/or adapters do I need or are recommended for connecting this dust collector to the sander?

p.s.  My first post.  Thanks to the regulars on this site who contribute often.  I'm sure there are a lot of people who learn from you, just by reading what you write, and never post in reply.  Paul-Marcel St-Onge and Bob Marino helped me make the decisions for my first purchase.

The CT 26, and all Festool dust extractors except the CT 36 AC come with an anti-static, 27mm hose. That is the one you want to use for sanding.

With the RO 90, you will want to turn down the suction until the sander reacts like it does with no suction at all. Otherwise, the suction is pulling it into the work piece and making sanding more difficult.

Yep, what Tom said.

The supplied 27 mm hose will fit all the tools; fitting over the dc ports on
the smaller tools  - sanders, jigsaws, etc., while fitting into the
dc ports on the larger tools - TS saws,  larger routers, etc.
Dust collection is more efficient using the 36 mm hose on the
larger tools.

As Tom and Bob said, your CT26E should have included a 3.5m x 27mm anti-static hose. Th2 27mm hose is ideal for all the sanders, the Domino, OF1010 and MFK700 routers and the jigsaws. I find the OF1400 and OF2200, as well as the planers and both TS55 and TS75 work best with the 36mm hose, as does your Kapex.

What is not included with the RO 90 DX is the round hard pad. I highly recommend that, since it makes it so much easier to retain crisp corners. The supplied round pad is softer, and appropriate on non-flat surfaces.

An advantage to the hard pad when learning to use the RO 90 DX is that it resists being sucked onto the work. Thus you can use slightly more suction. Once you get the hang of the hard pad, turning down the suction and using the softer pad becomes second nature.

Also, all of the geared Festool sanders need a break-in period which can last 8 or more hours. This break-in lets the gears mesh perfectly with the others and the brushes to seat. Many of us hand the sanders from the handles plug the suction and Plug-It power cord into a Festool CT turned on full blast and let the combination run. The CT will keep the sander from over heating. The result are well-meshed gears and seated brushes.

Well, at the cost of sounding like someone with more cents than sense, thanks for the help.

I didn't read the manual for the CT-26E.  (Who needs to read a manual for a vacuum? .  I just used the hose that came with the Installers cleaning set, when running the Kapex.  

After reading these replies, I opened up the CT-26 and found all the dust that I had been collecting.  Outside the bag.  The HEPA filter was taking all the load, and pretty clogged up on the intake side.  Exhaust side was very clean, as was the bag.  I even found the aluminum shavings from when I cut into the fence!

And I also found the 27mm hose inside.

Vacuumed it out with my old Ridgid vac and after I replace the HEPA filter, I should be good to go.

I could have paid someone to do the baseboard.  But seriously, this is much more fun and educational.

When you say filler do you mean drywall? If so then I reckon the RO 90 will be too small to get a flat surface.

I mean filler for nail holes, and for the gap created when I didn't get the miter angle just right.
