I know how Festool makes this possible, but it does not work for the application I have in mind, so what I am in need of is a connector that does not increase the size of the connection, rather I need one that goes straight from the 27 mm connector on both hoses. Anyone seen one somewhere?

Get a 1-1/4" copper plumbing coupling. The 27mm hose ends fit snugly inside the coupling. It's not pretty, but it works. [smile]
