Stumbled upon this yesterday on eBay and ordered one right away!
So thought I’d share…

Got The Festool LED Module for the OF1010 REB (578055) recently, and I’m totally digging it …makes working with that sweet machine even more fun that it already was.

when I saw one for the 2200 I was blown away!

Can’t yet testify to its performance, but judging by the vid and pics… looks solid !

It says, “One person bought it the last 24 hours”.  And that one person is you!

I usually set up guides and stops to control the travel on my routers.  I rarely “eyeball” it.  I would like one of those for my drill press though.

My electric screw driver has a light.  I never seem to need one for that device.

I would like to see a very compact ring light that could be attached to any device.

It does look like a soldi piece.  Review it after it arrives and again in 6 months after you have lived with it for a while.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Will do Packard.

I also prefer guides n stops as much as I can with me routers, but on so many occasions I really felt more confident when I could also see what the bit was actually doing when it’s  processing . Even in broad daylight , that LED just makes things that much nicer.

BTW Packard I was thinking about your perplexion from that post about rasps, I know it’s off topic, but if it’s ok for me to take a guess I’d say there are a few things at play with random vs conventional:

1. more fibres get treated with each pass,(Paul explained it very nicely I think and it makes sense).
2. Less clogging/loading.
3. If I’m seeing it correctly, looks like the randomness also applies to the size of the teeth, not just the spacing, so that would account for the smoother/finer finish.

Lemme know what you think.

BTW #2 I didn’t get a chance to comment and I know it was a while ago, but thanks so much for sharing your lighting setup for those toys you are making. It was a treat to get an inside look at how you set those up ! Seems so simple and accessible to anyone ,and the results look top notch.

It would be nice if these were activated by centrifugal force. I cannot think of a time when you would not use the LED.

Now that’s a totally awesome idea JimH2!!
Wonder how complicated/simple it would be to setup tech like that…
Perhaps something that lights up once you hit the trigger?Like with the drills.
That doesn’t sound too complex…🤷🏻‍♀️😌

Also Packard’s Ultra Compact-Light Ring…great concept.
I sometimes wish I had an LED that goes on the hose end, when I’m cleaning up after a session…
Kinda like those lights you have on those home vacs these days…

Like the old Irwin laser light that replaced the saw blade retainer on a miter saw, it added a laser line to just about any miter saw. Nothing to turn on...nothing to turn off.  [smile]

Hi Fellow Festoolians !💚
hope everyone is well ,workin hard n havin fun!

Just a quick update that I got the module a week ago , it’s really great!
I’m gonna need some more time with it though before I write that review , …
Packard ,my apologies ….hope you’re ok waiting …😎🙏🏻😃

Meantime I can say that’s its very nicely built, very straightforward and easy to install,
And serves its purpose perfectly.
Only two things right outa the bat that I would add would be to make it brighter ( perhaps two brightness settings, similar to the OF1010 Light Module), and maybe a cover for the charging connection, not sure one is imperative but only user time will tell.

More in the near future ….

Vondawg - my utmost pleasure !
Hope you got it and are having as much fun with it as I am!

Take care everyone and keep on routing in the free world!🤷🏻‍♀️😜😎
