Cord storage for vacuum

Seems as though I was heard about an accessory that fits not he back of a Festool vacuum to hold the electrical cord.  Cord storage thing.  Does anyone know where I can find something like that?  I have the CT Midi vacuum.

Unfortuntaly there's no cord storage for the Midi. No idea why Festool thinks it's not important. Many people been craving for this.

The latest Midi models have two holes in the back in which you might be able to fit a cord wrap from the CT 26 like Scott B. did here. Haven't tried it myself.

You can order it directly from Festool or any dealer. The part number is 496727 and costs about $12.

Both my midi's have the CT26 cord wrap now fitted and I have to say i wished I'd done it sooner. It was a pain to keep wrapping the cord and hose into the garage sometimes several times a day if we were at several small jobs.
I have a new midi which had the holes and an old one that didn't...I just copied the positions and self tapped a screw into the plastic.

I did a small job this weekend and was thinking why are there holes in the midi and no attachment. Not for long [big grin]

After reading the above I was about to order a cord holder for the midi that lives in my van but then realised that I have a ct 26 that lives under a bench in my workshop....doh! Guess what I will be doing tomorrow  [smile]

The cord storage option the we know of will only fit the CT26 and CT36 models. Thought the Midi and Mini both have holes, neither machine has the same shape to accept the cord piece but the screw holes are spaced properly. I did have one customer going to try to manipulate the shape of the cord accessory to make it work on his Midi. Haven't heard back from him.

Didn't take much work shaping a wooden spacer on mine. First thing I did when I got my midi as the boom arm on the 26 leaves you with a cord holder gathering dust on a shelf.

Here you go.

I had no issue with the CT26 cord wrap on the Midi. There is a ever so slight gap but works great even without a spacer.

Who needs such a long cord for such a small vac?  I immediately took the ridiculous cord off my Midi and installed a 8' cord - now it coils easily on top of the coiled hose in the garage.

Made a nice extension cord from the original Midi power cord...

What does the size of a vac have to do with it's reach? [blink] I darn well need every inch of that ridiculous cord.  [tongue]  [smile]

I find the smaller the Vac the longer the cord you need, because that little midi goes everywhere with me. Larger Vac, mostly stays stationary or stays within workshop.

sorry to bring up a crazy old thread but where are people buying these at? I found on one site for 30 and then amazon for $40 ... I cant find any of the festool online dealers that have then for the $12ish price point ...

thanks!

anyone know if this will work on a Mini?  Not sure if it has the mounting holes, or needs them...  it has the same cord trouble:  it fits but I don't enjoy spending the time at the end of a busy day struggling to patiently get the cord and hose in the garage.

also, bushwacked989- i just found it at toolpartspro.com for $14.70 plus shipping. I don't know anything about this site but it looks legit...

I think the $12 was a typo.  Click on the link in Anthonyz post (Reply #11) and you will see that it was $22.  I guess almost three years later the price has crept up to $30.
