I have moved into a specialized world [huh]  where replacing old windows, pre 1950 dbl hungs for vinyl jambouts (have 85 to do next week between Xmas and New Years) efficiently is the key to $$$$. I have come to rely on my Trion for almost all of my exterior trim cutting (cutting trim to fit right where you are installing it save so much time and you can get Excellent results with Bosch's new Xtra clean blades.) now what i want is to take the Trion Cordless. No one makes a barrrel grip cordless jigsaw and I think Festool should be the fitst.

Or a 50' Plug it cord [big grin]

For all the exterior trim, you could go cordless with a Joint Maker from Bridge City.  Oh, yeah, you said "key to $$$$"... mea culpa...

Well I don't know, but if you had to do no less than 85 windows, wouldn't a sawzall be much more efficient? More power, bigger blade and better handling.

Of course I agree with your idea for more cordless tools.

I recently got the Makita battery powered jigsaw. No - it is not a barrel grip like you said. It is a very nice saw and so far has worked great for my needs. Sure is nice to grab it and use it anywhere around my yard without having to string out a power cord. Has been used for fencing repairs, roof repairs, picnic table building, grill table. Works great. Like you, I guess, I much prefer a barrel grip but this is a quality product.

Alex you are right and wrong....... In any other world than lead abatement projects a sawzall is the best tool for demo like these windows but the lead government guidelines require that saws be able to be hooked to HEPA vacs, so in the demo phase it is actually easier to go by hand and literally break out the blind stops and then rebuild the windows exterior trim.  I use the jigsaw rather than my chopsaw for this
