Hey all.

My wife wanted an easel/table thing for jigsaws as that is life now in occasional lockdown.

The ones on Amazon looked either rubbish or expensive so I made this with scraps of QLD maple, pine and red oak ply I had around. The surface is covered in some smooth felt she had around to give a non-slip surface for the jigsaws.

Took as bit of thinking to get the folding mechanism to work so she gets the variable angle, and it still folds flat for storage.

Anyway she loves it so pretty happy with the result.

Nice job and it always feels good to use our “extra” pieces.

I had some extra pieces that I intentionally left 1/4” long for the final cut and they were really pretty.... I ended up taking a piece of birch ply and gluing them before finishing

My first thought was how is she going to hang a PS-300 or a PS-420 from that without any hooks. Then I realized you weren’t talking about power tools. Seriously though, looks amazing!!

Ha that’s a good point. My Wishlist Mafell jiggy would look great hung off that!

Beautiful job @ CeeJay. Just one question, I see there is a handle on it to carry, is there a latch to keep it closed?  What keeps it from flopping open if you carry it vertically? Thanks

There’s four small rare earth magnets on the back to prevent that - you can see them on the pic showing the back of the frame. It allows it to be carried like a briefcase basically.

We use an inexpensive cork bulletin board.  The cork is a neutral color so pieces don’t disappear, and it’s also non-slip. We’ve been using it flat on a table, but you’ve inspired me to add the angle legs.  Thanks!
