Creating a "Favicon" for the Forum

Here's a couple more that fit the 16X16 format.  I'm slightly partial to ICO13 but ICO12 has more impact.   Whatcha think?

Regards,

Dan.

Dan,
I like ICO13 a bit more as well.  The greater separation between the "F" and the outer line makes the letter stand out more clearly, and reveals more color.

Dan,
Can you check your *.ico files again.  I just opened them and it looks like they are the same.  They both look like ICO12.  Maybe you uploaded the same ICO twice?
Matthew

Matthew,

Here are the ICO files once more.  There may be an issue with optimized colors.  I made sure that they were correct.  Then, I created an optimized color version and a "StdWindows" color version.  Let me know what you think.

Regards,

Dan.

Just toying around a bit with transparent segments...

Gotta post it to see what it looks like:

[attachimg=3]

[attachimg=7]

Not so easy to come up with something that I like!  I think I'll trust the graphics experts.

Everyone,
As you probably can tell, there is now a favicon for the forum.  I went with Dan's ICO13.
I use Firefox, and it looks good to me.  Can people using Internet Explorer, Opera, and other browsers please report back and let me know if the faviocon looks right on your screen?
Matthew

I still see the Microsoft IE favicon on this site Matthew.  I'm using IE7.  I tried logging out and back in but that had no effect.

Just checked, and it looks good on:

Safari
Opera
Netscape
Firefox

All on a Mac.

Check again...I just updated the image.
Tell me what you see now.

It works in my Internet Explorer running under Windows XP SP2, and appears in the favourites list, links toolbar, browser window tab and address bar:

It also appears in the bookmarks toolbar, browser window tab and address bar of my Firefox 2.
