Creating a "Favicon" for the Forum

Emmanuel,
I'm surprised to hear it doesn't work in Firefox for you.  What version are you running?
Matthew

It is working now on XP SP2 with both IE and FireFox, working on Vista with FireFox but not IE7 ???

I think matthew is working behind the scenes to fix this because all is fine now.  There's a nice "F" in the favorites list, tabs, links tool bar, and address.  Lookin' good!

Thanks,

Dan.

OK here now on IE7, but I had to delete the History files to get it to start working.  I tried doing a Disc Cleanup, and that did not help.  Then I deleted Temporary Internet Files using the IE Tools, Internet Options, Browsing History/Delete.  Finally worked after I deleted the History files on the same window as above.  Thanks Matthew.

David nailed it.  I had the same problem on my workstation.  Cleared all the caches.  Worked fine then!

Thanks,

Dan.

Thanks, its working fine now. I did clear my temporary internet file but didn't think about clearing the history  ::)

The FOG favicon is effectively an inversion of the Festool (International, Australia, UK) favicon.  Gives FOG a family resemblance while keeping it distinct.  Nicely done.

Yes, I should have pointed out that the image would need to be refreshed in your browser, and that will depend on your individual settings.  For the bookmarks, it should change to the newer favicon when you use the link again.

I'm glad this is working, as it adds another piece to the overall presentation I want to achieve for this forum.

Thanks to Dan for working to get this right.  Thank you to everyone for your help.

Matthew

Hi,

Yup, I like that  F  . Pops right out in my favorites list. No mistaking it like some small intricate design ones that are also on my list. Looks like it fits right in with other Festool symbology too!

Seth

Matthew,

It looks good on my Dell Inspiron 1505 PC which is running Windows VISTA and IE version 7.0.6000.16386.

Frankly, anyone using IE (of any description) when Firefox is both far superior and free must be either living in the past or plain simple?

Matthew,

For what ever reason, the favicon isn't working on the home page this morning or in my links. Seems to work when I click on any internal page.

IE is not free???  I use IE and I'm not living in the past or "simple". IE does the job well (IMHO) - what more does one need?  Not American?

I'd like to apologize...

Mike, it takes a big man to admit when he's wrong...especially when he probably speaks for hundreds of FOG readers who have chosen to remain silent.  ;)

Regards,

John
