CT 22 died?

It just stopped. Had been running almost continuously for two hours and just suddenly stopped.  (I'm sanding  a small Cherry floor, about 10 x 10, in our guest cabin with Rotex 150.)  The motor housing felt quite warm. After cooling down still does not run.  Is there a thermal shut off that needs reseting?  I looked but could not locate one.  Thought I would check with the group before calling Festool.

Thanks,  Sander kept running.  Noticed CT 22 stopped because sanding dust suddenly going everywhere. Tested this morning and it runs again.  Will call Festool anyway to understand and will post what I learn here.

Talked to Festool. There are two thermal protection switches.  First is one the senses restricted air flow which resets fairly quickly.  The second is on the motor core and does not reset until motor is well cooled down.  So since the day was 85o plus the half hour or so I waited was probably not enough.

Thanks Tom, I didn't know there are two layers of thermal protection.

I'd like to know more about the circumstances that led to it overheating. The Festool vacs (like Fein, Meile, Wap etc.) have a bypass design that sends cool air through the motor with a separate fan so the motor won't burn out if air flow through the hose is stopped completely. So, was there a blockage in the hose or a full bag or was the vac attached to an extension cord? Or was it simply the 85 degrees?

I was reading a forum for guys that operate CNC routers and use Fein vacs as a suction source to hold the subject panels down while the router nibbles away. The system (vac included) sometimes runs for 24 continuous hours.

Bag was new when I started and only about 1/3 full when it shut down. That was the first thing I checked.  It had run about 3 hours in the morning and with short breaks to move or to change sanding paper. It was off for about 45 minutes for lunch then the about 2 hours until shut down.  I only guessed inside air temperature was 85 but do know outside temp was 97.  This cabin has no air conditioning. One mistake I probably made was not leaving the CT open to cool down, had I done so perhaps the hour I waited before testing would have been enough.
