I opened the vac to change bag, had a bit of momentum, not overly, instead of hitting a "stay" or a "stop", the lid kept going, and hit the floor.....
a Green piece appeared on the inside I don't recall seeing

did I break the lid stop?
what to do?

The lid is actually made to come off, primarily for servicing. If you depress the green latch, the lid will keep going until it disengages the hinge and comes loose. You should be able to put it back together. But, without knowing what green piece you're referring to, I don't know if you may have broken something or not. A photo would be helpful.

Edit: I went and looked, if it's the green latch that's is loose inside, it looks like it will just pop back on. But, I'd recommend you call the service department for assistance if needed. They have more experience with that sort of thing that I do.

Latch to release lid/head of CT. Normal position when the lid is opened for bag change.

You are awesome Shane.... I would have spent an hour trying to figure that out....
I will report back, now that I know what too look for....
the green piece was in ONE piece, so I don't think it snapped, hopefully the housing did not...
nice to know the lid is designed to go to the floor...

Ability to come off and going to the floor are 2 different things. Just saying

OK, it just popped off..... my guess is, on the newer models vacs, this area is designed stronger, as if you make your CT-22-33 top heavy with the new accessories, when you tilt the lid back for bag change, the weight is too great and pops the green piece off..... It did not break...after re-inserting the green piece, I tested it, and you must be real careful when it hits the stop....as if it hits with too much force, it pops the green piece off.....  impressive the green piece did not break, prob. designed to pop off, nice design.....

So if someone is loading up top heavy accessories, the newer vacs prob. have this stop beefed up..... is this correct Shane?

thx so much...

Glad you got it fixed and there was no damage.

The newer models, and older MINI/MIDI have head units that completely lift off of the "bucket". There is no tilt mechanism at all.

Shane, interesting, that raises another question.....

I am using the ultimate Dust Deputy.... after a nightmare getting it ideally set up, it does work great, I let the big chips fly into it with no fear of anything.... and cheap to replace those bags...

However, I can fill 4 gallons of dust in the UDD, and the Festool bag has virtually NOTHING in it...but the papers pores are filled with fine dust, so it reduces suction....what do you suggest to remedy this, clean-able bag?  Does that solve this?

You may want to solicit feedback from other members who have the DD. The bag is designed to act as a primary filter down to 5 microns. So, it's doing what it's designed to do. If by "cleanable bag" you mean the long life bag, it's not recommended for use with fine dust. It's best used for larger chips from routers, planers and the like.

OK, thx for that info... it appears I have maxed out the capacity of the vac, no complaints....its a work horse...  considering the UDD collects 3 gallons of dust / chips, and I get 2 change-outs before changing the Festool bag.... not a bad ratio.  It seemed odd tossing away a Festool bag that is maybe 5% full.....  overall, it's a win/win...

Whats the part number for that latch? Cant find it on EKAT

If for the 22/33/44/55, I'm having trouble identifying it on the Ekat myself. I can ask the guys in service tomorrow.
