I have had several "shop vacs" of one type or another throughout the years. Never had one, or parts of one crack to pieces from a fall out of a (stationary) van or pick up.

This morning, while unloading my van (sprinter) my ct 26 rolled out the door and landed up side down. Well the top (hose storage area) shattered. I would say, almost exploded into 20, or so, pieces.  Whats up with that? Are they made out of potato chips?

I haven't called my dealer yet, are these parts available?

Parts are available from Festool USA -

Give them a call toll-free at 888-337-8600 on Monday through Friday between 8a - 5p ET

If they have the parts they ship out same day.  Great service.

I wouldn't be surprised if the cold had something to do with it, that sucks [eek]

+1

thats actually really disturbing since my CT-Midi lives in my Van, im sure festool will replace or send the replacement part. Im sure the cold had alot todo with it but still!

I cracked my D50 tube in the cold. I tapped it on something hard and it split where the tubes slip together. I wrapped some electrical tape around it to hold it together. Tried glue but didn't hold.

So, without even a call to my dealer, at 8:30 this morning I get a call on my cell from Steve Huckleberry (Festool Tech support).

I was surprised and impressed. Now that is  customer service. My new parts are on the way.

I pride myself on providing uncompromising service to my clients. I'm glad Festool does the same.

I wonder how that could have happened...  [scratch chin]

Glad Steve contacted you and took care of you. Luckily, your email address on your forum account had a domain that sent me to your website where I found your contact info.

The service team rocks.

Shane

PS - This was not covered under warranty, but a gesture of customer good will.
