CT 26 has stopped providing power to on-board outlet

Hi everyone, I'm in the middle of rehabbing some windows and the power outlet on my CT 26 just quit.

The vacuum itself can still be turned on manually, but no juice is coming to the outlet. To confirm it's not the tool or the cord, I plugged the tool and cord into the wall and it works fine.

Anyone know if there's a fuse on the CT 26 I can access, or a reset button somewhere?

thanks,

- Nick

Not sure about the CT26, but the receptacles on both my CT22's failed last year.  I gave Festool service the same story you just posted.  They suggested that I bend the prongs on the tool plug outward slightly.  That didn't help, so I sprung for a new receptacle and that solved the problem.  They are easy to install, no wiring needed.

Call Festool Monday.

Thanks Jesse, will do. How old were your CT22's? My CT26 is less than two years old so I'm surprised to encounter a parts failure so early in the machine's life.

The receptacles in the CT-22 era were more prone to issues in my experience.  It was fairly simple to remove them and bend the contacts back into position.  I suspect that if the slight bending of the prongs works, get in touch with Festool and they will send out a new receptacle.  To change them out takes less than 10 minutes.  Don't throw the old one away.  You can save that as a spare and spread the contacts on that one.

imo its best to run a splitter off the onboard outlet for more multiple tool usage while putting the wear and tear on the splitter/power strip.
