Although we received these machines a little later than most countries, I still think my review may have one or two things to offer. Please have a look and let me know. CT 26 and Bluetooth

no offense but your reviews are more like info commercials that the manufacturer would put out so i have stopped watching.

I hope David keeps doing them, they are better and provide more information that what Festool puts out.

I find all your videos great.  You explain things in a clear and concise way.  I think my favs are your review the TSO rail square and the UJK parf guide.

If you buy the Bluetooth set, the remote is pre-paired to the receiver so no need to go through the pairing process.

The point I think glass1 was making above is that the concept of a "review" has been completely lost by a bunch of Youtubers including this one.  A proper review provides opinions after actual usage and one can expect both pros and cons as part of that review.  One could argue that he didn't find ANYTHING he didn't like for this product, but these reviews don't seem to EVER show anything that could be improved and that's just not likely.  These are infomercials (if not paid by the sponsor then that just makes it an unfortunate deal for who made them) which are great in terms of demonstrating features in a long form, but don't have any possibility of showing what they didn't like or why you might consider a different option).

I don’t think that the presentation is necessarily flawed because the presenter did not identify any things he did not like. What one person looks for is not necessarily the same as another, so one needs to decide for oneself rather than just blindly swallowing a review, however independent and objective.

For me, there is a value in a more hand-on examination of the product than the clinical Festool demos, and this presenter, again for me, has an approachable style.

I was an early adopter of the Bluetooth module and have written it up here http://festoolownersgroup.com/festo...good-but-can-be-improved/msg540592/#msg540592 .  I think it is excellent, but had already identified one thing I disliked before buying it - that is that it hogs the expansion port on the vac and that is why I modified mine as shown in my thread referred to above. This won’t be an issue for many people, so they wouldn’t necessarily appreciate the presenter banging on about a weakness that didn’t concern them.

(The other thing I had to smile about was the presenter trying to show how the wondrous Cleantec connector fits to the dust collection kit - I doubt whether the Incredible Hulk would have found it any easier..)

Cheers

I have a CT26 which I upgraded with Bluetooth as soon as the module was available, it was a very worthwhile investment.  As to likes and dislikes of the CT26 a no-brainer dislike is the weight, bulk and awkwardness of moving the unit up and down stairs or into and out of a vehicle.  I also have a Nilfisk Aero 21 HEPA that performs about as well, is about as quiet, has somewhat less capacity, weighs about half as much and is half as bulky.  When I need a vacuum to travel, even just from my basement to the garage it's the Nilfisk hands down.

Look up the one where he says you can make your own mft table for under $100 then uses the $300 Parf dog system to make it. I tend to agree, outside of seeing the units first had I see no value in his videos anymore. Festool themselves needs to update their video library, you search Youtube and alot of the content is 3-5 years old.

I like Dave's videos - he offers a lot of worthwhile ideas.

He can show a little bias, but there's bias with any tool owner based on what they have used.

I'm glad to have videos like his and hope he keeps producing them.

I don't have a problem with the content of his videos, I just don't think they should be called reviews and lots of Youtubers make product infomercials that they call reviews.

Just a heads up about the remote. if you use a iVac switch with your CT like me, the remote will not work  [mad]

What's with reviving a dead thread just to dog on someone who posted something 6 1/2 years ago?

Because nobody puts Dave in the corner! ;-)

If you review a CT-26 and don't pick it up and try carrying it up a flight of stairs you are completely missing its heaviest flaw (pun intended).  It does a great job of vacuuming with lots of good features but if you have a basement shop and you ever want to take it upstairs or to a job at another location you had better cinch up your truss Bucko!

Not sure if admire is the right word. But sometimes people, perhaps by chance, could bump into a 'dead' thread or post, 'revive' it and restart a discussion like this. I wish I had the time to go through all the 'dead discussions and found "fault" with something.

As a former owner of a CT26, I  carried my current CT15 up and down in my house a few times in the new year for some carpet job. I think I may buy another CT15 if it dies or a shopvac but never ever anything bigger.

Btw, where are glass1, Marco, Afish and the like. They seem to have disappeared from the world.

I just bought a CT-26 which is in my basement. I am in my fifties, overweight, I have a heart condition and I have rheumatoid arthritis, but I just picked it up and carried it upstairs with absolutely no problem at all. I don't know what anyone is complaining about. Then again, I'm on the carnivore diet now, so maybe that's it. ;)
